Archipelago Road is Finland’s strategic connection to Åland Islands and Sweden. The Concept Plan for its 'One-Bridge-Solution' between Prostvik Nagu and Lillmälö Pargas was designed by ASOY without work order in 2013-2014. All what happened after it was released during the Entrepreneur Cruise of the City of Pargas in October 2014 is history!
According to an old good principe ‘One Takes What One Has’, Archipelago Road with its newly refurbished bridges (Lillmälö // Mattholm // Sattmark) should be utilized to its maximum - and only the missing piece should be added - i.e. the suggested ‘One Bridge' with its short ramps.
According to the long period calculations made by WSP Group should this One-Bridge-Solution save 300 million euros when compared with the present type car ferry connection within 100 years period.
All what is not needed should be left aside: ‘Less is More’. The miles long Haverö alternative (The Regional Plan and Environmental Impact Assessment 2002) with its many bridges is hopelessly complex, and painful to the islanders and violent to the nature. Many aspects do support the 'One-Bridge-Solution’.
